Nutritional Therapy at The Octagon Clinic, Hammersmith
A personalised, whole-body approach to health
Nutritional therapy takes a personalised, whole-body approach to health, using food and lifestyle to address the underlying causes of symptoms rather than simply
managing them.
It includes in-depth assessments — often supported by functional nutrition testing — to identify imbalances and understand what your body truly needs.
From boosting energy to supporting chronic conditions, nutrition therapy provides tailored plans that enhance overall wellbeing while (where appropriate) working
alongside your medical care.
What to Expect in a Nutrition Consultation
A nutrition consultation with Ruth is a thorough, personalised process designed to understand your health from every angle and create a plan that supports your goals.
1. Comprehensive Health Assessment
Your consultation begins with a detailed discussion of your health history, current symptoms, lifestyle, stress levels, sleep patterns, and overall wellbeing. This gives a
complete picture of the factors influencing your health and helps identify priority areas for support.
2. Dietary Assessment
Ruth will review your current eating patterns, food preferences and daily routines. Together, you’ll explore how your diet may be impacting your digestion, energy,
hormones, mood and any other areas of your health. This step ensures that any recommendations fit naturally into your life.
3. Personalised Nutrition Plan
Following the 1-hour assessment, Ruth will develop a tailored nutrition plan designed specifically for your needs. This may include:
- Targeted dietary guidance to support your symptoms and overall health
- Supplement recommendations where appropriate to help rebalance nutrient levels or support key systems
- Functional nutrition testing (optional) such as gut health, hormone, or nutrient status tests to gain deeper insights
- Lifestyle and habit strategies to help make the plan achievable and sustainable
Your plan is delivered via email with 7 days of the consultation.
