Jo Saarinen – Pilates teacher

Jo (Johanna) Saarinen is a retired professional dancer with a genuine passion for movement. She is a certified mat, springboard and reformer Pilates teacher, currently, she is training with Polestar Pilates, working towards her advanced certification.

Jo deeply appreciates the Classical Pilates method, and she enriches her teaching with an evidence-based approach, incorporating the latest understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, and motor learning principles. This blend allows classical exercises to be viewed through a modern perspective, making them accessible, effective, and safe for a diverse range of clients and body types.

Continuous professional development is a fundamental aspect of Jo’s practice. She regularly attends advanced training and workshops to enhance her grasp of both the classical method and the latest advancements in movement science. This commitment ensures that her sessions are fresh and engaging, providing clients with a balanced and thorough movement experience that honours the historical roots of Pilates while integrating contemporary knowledge.

Jo’s experience includes working with a wide variety of individuals, from those seeking general fitness to clients recovering from injuries or managing chronic conditions.
